The team at Hogarths Hotels & Restaurants have this month shown further outstanding contribution to the local communities and charities by raising vital funds for Breast Cancer, in line with Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The teams, led by Group HR Manager Emma Griffiths, have taken part in a week of activities to raise much needed funds to support Breast Cancer Now. One in seven women in the UK will develop breast cancer, the donations raised will help to make sure world-class research is taking place, and life-changing care and support is provided to those who desperately need it. The aim is to create a future where everyone who develops breast cancer lives.
On Monday, 6 members of the Hogarths Hotels team walked a staggering 26miles from Hogarths Solihull to Hogarths Stone Manor. Tuesday, both teams donated and wore Pink for the day. Wednesday the teams paid for their staff dinner and devoured a delicious meal prepared especially for the occasion. Thursday saw members of the team take on a cupcake challenge to see who could take the title for the greatest number of cupcakes consumed in one sitting. The week came to an end with the team running a car wash for employee cars. All efforts were embraced with a whole team effort and together they raised over a £1000.
In April, Breast Cancer Now joined forces with Breast Cancer Care to create one charity. So, this year, along with funding life-saving research, Hogarths fundraising will help to care for & support people affected by breast cancer. Steven Quick, Operations Director commented “It is absolutely fantastic to see so many of our hotels team, get so involved with this worthwhile cause. Hogarths Hotels are committed to continuing to play a part in the communities in which they operate and already this year we have raised many thousands of pounds for some really fantastic causes, that really help to make other people’s lives a little bit better.
To continue our support of great causes this year, we are also continuing to award young individuals who give up their time, achieve something amazing or show outstanding bravery to help others as part of our Help Harry Help Others Young Starz Awards where the award winners will be celebrated at a dinner held at Hogarths Solihull on 1st December.
