At hogarths Stone Manor, the team really are on fire after organising and hosting Primrose Hospice’s first ever fire walk.
A fire walk is the practice of walking barefoot on red hot embers. The challenge of completing a fire walk is designed to help transform fears and encourage participants to do things they didn’t think possible.
Walking over hot coals covering a distance of 15 – 20ft it really is the ultimate mind-over-matter challenge.
The evening kicked off with an hour long training session first, the training taught our participants how to walk across the coals safely, and also how to motivate and help them to build their confidence needed to complete the challenge.
A firewalk is designed to test an individuals courage in doing something that may have seemed impossible. Isn’t everything impossible until somebody does it! Those who took part in the hogarths fire walk will tell you even though they felt intense heat beneath their feet had absolutely no burns.
hogarths have long supported Primrose Hospice and will continue to host events to raise vital funds to boost the work of the hospice. Primrose Hospice is an independent charity and relies heavily on support from the local community, the team at Primrose support patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families, providing them with the care and support they need during difficult times.
Raising the stakes, with all those involved in the evening cashing in their sponsorship collections, astonishingly over £5000 raised between the participants.
